What Obsidian Notes makes
This skill teaches your AI to write notes the way Obsidian expects them. Obsidian is a note-taking app that uses plain text files. It adds its own extras to normal Markdown, and this skill covers those extras so the notes work properly in your vault.
It covers links between notes (wikilinks), embeds of other notes, images and PDFs, callout boxes, and properties at the top of a note such as title, tags and aliases. Its steps are: add properties, write the content, link related notes, embed what you need, add callouts and check the note displays correctly.
Best for: Obsidian users who want their AI to write notes that fit into their vault.
- Wikilinks to notes, headings and blocks
- Embeds for notes, images and PDF pages
- Callouts such as note, tip and warning
- Properties: tags, aliases and more
- Tells you when to use wikilinks and when normal links
Made with this skill
Obsidian note from a call with a plumber. Turn rough notes from a call into an Obsidian note: Dana from Harbor Plumbing; moving the sink to the window wall; drain can move about 2 m along the outside wall without cutting joists; old shut-off valve is seized, replace it; dishwasher stays on the sink side; Nov 18 start held only if confirmed by Friday; check sill height against the chosen tap; photos already sent; need a written quote; ask Sam the electrician about the outlet; a cheaper pump option, not keen. The vault already has notes for Harbor Plumbing, Kitchen renovation 2026, Appliance list, Tap options and Sam (electrician), and the call recording. Any brands, names or numbers inside are invented examples.

ChatGPTby OpenAI
- 1 Download the skill (.zip) with the button at the top of this page, then unzip it.

Is the Obsidian Notes skill free?
Yes. It is a Free skill on Best Agent Skills. Sign-in opens soon; when it does, a free account is all you need to download it.
Who made the Obsidian Notes skill?
Steph Ango. We did not write it. Best Agent Skills curates skills like this one, explains them in plain words and shows how to add them to your app. It is shared under the MIT licence (Copyright (c) 2026 Steph Ango (@kepano)).
