What PDFtk makes
Teaches your agent to use PDFtk, a small tool for handling PDF files. Merge several files into one, split a file into pages, rotate pages, remove pages, add passwords, and more.
It also covers filling in form fields, adding watermarks or stamps, reading metadata and bookmarks, and repairing damaged files. You need PDFtk installed first; the skill gives install steps for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Best for: People who handle lots of PDF files and want quick, reliable page-level edits.
- Merge, split and extract pages
- Rotate and delete pages
- Encrypt and decrypt
- Fill forms, watermark and stamp
- Repair corrupted PDFs
Made with this skill
Three PDFs turned into one job application. Combine a cover letter, a CV and a two-page portfolio into one PDF. Drop the blank last page of the CV, turn the sideways portfolio pages upright, put a name footer on every page and give the file a proper title. Any brands, names or numbers inside are invented examples.
Example prompts
Type something like this once the skill is added. Your app opens the skill when the request matches.
-
Merge these three PDFs into one
-
Split this PDF into single pages
-
Put a DRAFT watermark on every page
-
Remove pages 4 to 6 and rotate the rest
What’s inside
7 files in the skill folder, with its MIT licence kept inside. Only text instructions and reference files, no program files.

Which apps it works in
A skill is a folder of plain files, so any app that reads the open skills format can use it. Pick your app for its page.

- 3 Add the “pdftk-server” folder there if your version offers it. If you do not see Skills yet, use this skill in Claude or Codex instead.
- 4 In a chat, type @ and pick the skill, or just ask. Ask for what you want, for example: “Merge these three PDFs into one”
To make your own, describe the workflow to @skill-creator in ChatGPT Work and it drafts a skill for you.
