What Agent Browser makes
Agent Browser is a command line tool that gives an AI agent a browser it can control. The skill tells the agent when to use it: opening a website, filling a form, clicking a button, taking a screenshot or pulling data off a page.
The skill file itself is a short pointer. It tells the agent to ask the installed tool for the full, always current instructions, so you need the tool installed too. Install it with the command from its README.
Best for: People whose agent needs to use websites and web apps, not only read them.
- Works through Chrome with compact page snapshots the agent can click by reference.
- Covers forms, logins, screenshots and data extraction.
- Extra guides for testing and bug hunts, Electron desktop apps and Slack.
- Instructions come from the installed tool, so they match your version.
Example prompts
Type something like this once the skill is added. Your app opens the skill when the request matches.
-
Open my staging site, log in with the test account and take a screenshot of the dashboard.
-
Fill out this contact form and tell me what the confirmation says.
-
Test my signup flow and list anything that breaks.
What’s inside
2 files in the skill folder, with its Apache-2.0 licence kept inside. Only text instructions and reference files, no program files.
- SKILL.md the instructions
- LICENSE licence
Which apps it works in
A skill is a folder of plain files, so any app that reads the open skills format can use it. Pick your app for its page.
How to add Agent Browser to your app
Step by step for each app. We say where to click, so you never need to leave this page.
ChatGPTby OpenAI
- 1 Download the skill (.zip) with the button at the top of this page, then unzip it.
- 2 Open the ChatGPT desktop app and look for Skills in the sidebar, where standalone skills are listed.
- 3 Add the “agent-browser” folder there if your version offers it. If you do not see Skills yet, use this skill in Claude or Codex instead.
- 4 In a chat, type @ and pick the skill, or just ask. Ask for what you want, for example: “Open my staging site, log in with the test account and take a screenshot of the dashboard.”
To make your own, describe the workflow to @skill-creator in ChatGPT Work and it drafts a skill for you.
