What Content Strategy makes
This skill helps you decide what to publish, not just how to write it. It asks about your business, customers, current content and rivals, then plans content that is searchable (answers questions people already ask), shareable (spreads ideas), or both.
It treats each piece like a product launch and helps score which pieces to make first, split a content calendar and plan how to share each one in more than one place. It covers topic clusters and content pillars, and has guides for content distribution and headless CMS setups.
Best for: Small teams and solo founders who feel stuck on what to publish.
- Searchable vs shareable content lens
- Scoring to choose which pieces to make first
- Topic clusters and content pillars
- Editorial calendar planning
- Distribution guide for reusing each piece
Made with this skill
A blog plan for a small bookkeeping firm. "I run a small accounting firm. What should I blog about?" Context given with the brief: a three-person bookkeeping firm in Leeds for sole traders in the building trades, wanting new client enquiries, with time for two posts a month and the three questions clients ask most. Any brands, names or numbers inside are invented examples.
Example prompts
Type something like this once the skill is added. Your app opens the skill when the request matches.

How to add Content Strategy to your app
Step by step for each app. We say where to click, so you never need to leave this page.
ChatGPTby OpenAI
- 1 Download the skill (.zip) with the button at the top of this page, then unzip it.
- 2 Open the ChatGPT desktop app and look for Skills in the sidebar, where standalone skills are listed.
- 3 Add the “content-strategy” folder there if your version offers it. If you do not see Skills yet, use this skill in Claude or Codex instead.
- 4 In a chat, type @ and pick the skill, or just ask. Ask for what you want, for example: “I run a small accounting firm. What should I blog about?”
To make your own, describe the workflow to @skill-creator in ChatGPT Work and it drafts a skill for you.
