What Cold Email makes
This skill helps with B2B cold outreach, the emails you send to people who do not know you yet. It writes the emails and follow-ups, plans LinkedIn messages and multi-step sequences, helps set up sending so emails reach the inbox, and shows how to handle replies.
The writing rule is to sound like a thoughtful peer, not a vendor. Every sentence must earn its place, and personalization must connect to the problem you solve. It also gives practical sending rules: send from secondary domains, verify your list first, turn off open tracking, and stop every channel when someone replies.
Best for: Sales reps and founders doing their own outbound.
- Writing principles: short, peer-to-peer, "you" over "we"
- Guides for subject lines, follow-ups and personalization
- LinkedIn outreach and multi-channel cadences
- Deliverability setup and sending rules
- Reply handling guide
Made with this skill
A three-email sequence from a bookkeeper to a clinic owner. Write a short cold email sequence from Ana, a freelance bookkeeper, to the owner of a physiotherapy clinic that just opened its third site. Proof to use: she closes the books within 5 working days for two other multi-site clinics. Any brands, names or numbers inside are invented examples.

How to add Cold Email to your app
Step by step for each app. We say where to click, so you never need to leave this page.
ChatGPTby OpenAI
- 1 Download the skill (.zip) with the button at the top of this page, then unzip it.
- 2 Open the ChatGPT desktop app and look for Skills in the sidebar, where standalone skills are listed.
- 3 Add the “cold-email” folder there if your version offers it. If you do not see Skills yet, use this skill in Claude or Codex instead.
- 4 In a chat, type @ and pick the skill, or just ask. Ask for what you want, for example: “Write a three-email sequence to HR directors about our onboarding software.”
To make your own, describe the workflow to @skill-creator in ChatGPT Work and it drafts a skill for you.
