What Analyze Data makes
Analyze Data helps your AI answer questions about your numbers. You ask something plain, like how many people signed up last month or why support tickets went up. It decides if you need a quick answer, a full analysis or a formal report, then gets the data and works it out.
If a data warehouse is connected it writes the queries itself. If not, it asks you to paste results, upload a CSV or Excel file, or describe your tables. Before it shows you anything it checks its own work, then writes up the answer, with a chart if a chart helps.
Best for: Managers, founders and analysts who have questions about their data but do not want to write queries by hand.
- Three sizes of answer: quick lookup, full analysis, formal report
- Works from a connected database, a pasted table or an uploaded CSV or Excel file
- Built-in sanity checks: row counts, empty values, odd magnitudes, gaps in time series, totals that add up
- Leads with the key finding and suggests follow-up questions
- Can hand off to a chart skill when a picture is clearer

How to add Analyze Data to your app
Step by step for each app. We say where to click, so you never need to leave this page.
ChatGPTby OpenAI
- 1 Download the skill (.zip) with the button at the top of this page, then unzip it.
- 2 Open the ChatGPT desktop app and look for Skills in the sidebar, where standalone skills are listed.
- 3 Add the “analyze-data” folder there if your version offers it. If you do not see Skills yet, use this skill in Claude or Codex instead.
- 4 In a chat, type @ and pick the skill, or just ask. Ask for what you want, for example: “/analyze How many new users signed up in December?”
To make your own, describe the workflow to @skill-creator in ChatGPT Work and it drafts a skill for you.
